Masters Day 1: Europeans start strong
The inaugural Disc Golf European Masters has officially kicked off and the conditions hardly could have been any more perfect. Light to moderate winds, clear skies and temperature around 25°C welcomed the players to the beautiful Järva DiscGolfPark. The first group teed off already at 8 AM, with groups of 3-4 players teeing off every 10 minutes until 2 PM.
Ragna Bydge takes the lead in FPO division

Ragna Bygde, originated in Stockholm but currently residing in the United States probably is among the top few players who know Järva DiscGolfPark like her own pockets. The local knowledge shined through during first round of competition, with Ragna carding a very impressive 63 (-1), earning a preliminary PDGA rating of 1001. Despite Ragna’s convincing efforts, the FPO division is still very much anybody’s game, as Catrina Allen (66), Paige Pierce (68) and Valarie Jenkins (70) all have plenty of experience of winning big tournaments. All in all the FPO division may see a lot of changes in standings as the tournament progresses, as the majority of players are trailing the lady in front of them by just 1-2 strokes.
Europeans shoot hot scores in MPO divisions

The great scoring conditions at Järva DiscgolfPark fueled a multitude of hot round 1 results across the Men’s Pro Open division. Many of the top European players got a great start to their tournament, as 3 of the top 5 players on the MPO leaderboard are European residents. The lead is currently tied with German Simon Lizotte, Danish Karl-Johan Nybo and American Will Schusterick, who all carded a scorching hot 54 (-10) in the first round. The reigning 2-time World Champion Paul McBeth from USA is standing just one stroke back of the 3 co-leaders and will be joining them in the lead card on the 2nd round. Reigning Finnish Champion Pasi Koivu completes the top 5 with a very respectable 57 (-7).
